If you are looking for a Purebred dog or Small dog, please click on the "Purebred/Small dog" page accessible via the main page or click Here.
All purebreds and dogs under 20# in a Montana shelter known to me are listed there. Also included are Siamese, Manx, and Persian cats and all non-cat/dog entries such as livestock, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc. This very popular page is updated all day/eve so check it often.

Breeding: Please note all shelter pets are spayed/neutered so this site is not an appropriate place to find a "breeder." If you are interested in breeding, please see: Should I Breed My Dog? and Breeding Your Dog. If you are still interested in breeding, please contact your local kennel club. If you need help locating one, email us.

If you did not find what you were hoping for on the Purebred/Small Dog page, and would like us to help you, simply email your request to the webmaster at di@montanapets.org or use the Form provided below. To the best of our ability, we will email you each time a Montana pet matching your request becomes available until you find what you want. This free service is provided by the webmasters at Montana Pets on the Net in hopes of promoting adoptions from Montana shelters, humane societies, and private rescuers across the state. Each shelter has their own adoption criteria so no adoption is final until you have been notified as such by the shelter you applied to adopt from.

We urge you NOT to buy dogs from (See also: Pet Store Puppies), Puppy Mills (and yes, there are a number of them in Montana), or Backyard Breeders (BYB's) who directly contribute to poor quality breeding, continued pet overpopulation, and abuse by not breeding to the breed standards and selling pets to unscreened homes without spay/neuter contracts. Note: Waiting list requests are kept 60 days, then deleted. If you haven't found your desired pet in that time, just resubmit a new one.

We at Montana Pets on the Net do not patronize stores that sell live dogs and cats. We prefer to patronize stores that feature shelter pets only such as Petco or PetsMart.
