9/1/2010 [10-D373] Promo
Pit Bull, white, Male neutered, 3 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Promo is a handsome guy who was brought to us when his owners couldn't take care of him anymore. He's an active dog who likes to play fetch, go running, and play with other dogs. While he could use quite a bit of training, he will certainly be a fun guy to work with!
8/31/2010 [10-D367] Willow
Spaniel X, red/white, Female spayed, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: I'll be the first to admit it. If I didn't already have too many dogs, I would have adopted her myself. Look deep into those big, hopeful brown eyes and just fall in love with this gorgeous, girl. Willow lost her former home because she chased cats that ran (Well, duh). We think her loving, mellow personality will be perfect for a home of adults or adults with older children. Let her into your home and soon you'll find this lady in your heart forever. Canine-Ality (purple): I'm a Constant Companion.
8/28/2010 [10-D368] Shadow
Terrier X, brindle, Female spayed, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: We knew Shadow and her littermates as puppies. We don't know any more about her breed now then we knew then, except she definitely isn't a Lab X. At 30 pounds full grown, she is the perfect size though, and my guess is their is some terrier in there somewhere. Shadow is very sweet. She loves fetching, running along side the bicycle with you, and toys!
8/28/2010 [10-D365] Lexa
Boxer, tan with white/black, Female spayed, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Lexa's family said she was just too active for them. We think she has the exact amount of energy a normal, happy, well adjusted, young Boxer should have. She is crate trained, housetrained, and eager to learn more. And did I mention that at 40 pounds it pretty much makes her the tiniest, cutest Boxer ever!
8/27/2010 [10-D366] Gunnar
Mini Aussie, blue merle with tan and white, Male neutered, 8 Mo
OWNER TURN IN: Gunnar's family had too many dogs, and he was the unlucky one who ended up at the shelter. Little does he know that things are about to get so much better for him. You see, Gunnar is a heck of a sweet, little guy, and finding him a new home will be a cinch! He gets along with other dogs, and cats, is housetrained, and absolutely loves his people!
8/26/2010 [10-D362] Daisy
Plott Hound X, tan, Female, 3 months
OWNER TURN IN: Daisy and Deliliah started growing way past their owner's 30 pound weight limit, so they both had to go. These are two happy girls though, everything makes them happy, food, toys, walks, snuggles, you name it!
8/26/2010 [10-D363] Delilah
Plott Hound X, black/tan, Female, 3 months
OWNER TURN IN: Daisy and Delilah are two young, happy-go-lucky hound dogs. Until coming to the shelter they spent most of their time outdoors, so the big world is all new to them, but they are liking most of it so far! All that's missing is a family.
8/26/2010 [10-D364] Shyla
Australian Shepherd, black with whtie, Female spayed, 12 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Shyla's far too sensitive and has spent too many years with her family to understand shelter life. She's been getting special treatment though, hanging in the office with the ladies, and getting lots of treats and walks. We want to find a quiet adults only home for her to rest and relax surrounded by love. Seniors, her adoption fee is waived for you!
8/25/2010 [10-D360] Harlow
Miniature Pinscher, brown/tan, Female, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Harlow was a recent give away, and it just wasn't a good match. She's a shy, tiny lady who is easily overwhelmed, but wouldn't you be if you only weighed 6 pounds? Children can be a bit much for her, but if you have the patience to earn her trust, the reward will be huge! Harlow is very snuggly and loves to be held, and she looks adorable in her doggy sweaters!
8/24/2010 [10-D357] Abby
Boxer X, tan with white, Female spayed, 4 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Abby was adopted from us 3 years ago. Her adopters returned her because she wasn't happy staying out in the yard all the time. She started taking it apon hereslf to let herself out for a good time! Abby is a perfectly sweet dog, who just doesn't want to live outside by herself. She gets along with other dogs, and loves to play fetch! Of course she has already mastered all her basic commands, and is housetrained. Update: Abby is out for a test drive!
8/20/2010 [10-D354] Ms. Wiggles
Dachshund, tan, Female spayed, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: It only takes a second to see how this little cutie got her name. Every part of her seems to wiggle uncontrollably whenever she sees a person she likes, which happens to be every person she meets! She gets along with other dogs and is crate trained. She loves cats and kids too! Bring your family down to meet Ms. Wiggles, she loves you already, so you're the only one that needs convincing! Update: Ms. Wiggles is out for a test drive!
8/14/2010 [10-D328] Mercedes
American Bulldog, white with brindle, Female spayed, 4 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Merecedes has been through a lot in her doggy life. She has had two knee replacements, just to get passed from family member to family member, to ultimately end up in our shelter. She deserves stability and love. We would like to find someone with bully breed experience because Merecedes is such a sensitive gal. She gets along with other dogs, but shouldn't live with kitties. She loves to fetch especially in the water, and swimming is great exercise for her knees! She knows all kinds of tricks, and has of course mastered her basic manners, and is house trained and crate trained! Update: Mercedes is not available while she is taking a little vacation for some training.
8/11/2010 [10-D342] Sassy
Chihuahua, black with tan/grey, Female spayed, 9 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Sassy's owner was a truck driver. She spent most of her life on the road, meeting new people, seeing new things, and looking out her window. It's probably the reason she's so laid back and super friendly. Sassy's life hasn't been so great lately though. Her owner dropped her off at a family member's house, went back on the road, and never came back for Sassy. Luckily Sassy makes friends with everyone right away, and one of our staff members is even taking her home each night. She has happy times ahead for sure! Update: Sassy is out for a test drive with one of our favorite adopters and their 2 little doggies, Petey and Buster!
8/3/2010 [10-D327] Kesa
American Bulldog X, hwite with tan, Female spayed, 2 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Kesa's family took her after their son would no longer care for her, and they felt she was just too big for them, so now she finds herself with us. At 82 pounds, she certainly is a large lady, but don't let that put you off. Kesa is really just a big sweetie. She loves to play with toys especially really big beach balls! She gets along with other dogs, is housetrained, and good at her basic manners.
7/1/2010 [10-D230a] Roo
Border Collie, black and white, Female spayed, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Roo is a very special lady, looking for a very special friend. She was born with a deformity that shortened her front leg considerably. Although she won't ever break any records for speed, she can fetch a tennis ball, chase squirrels, and go for hikes all day long! Roo is also very shy, so patience will be a must, and she does not do well with children. However, she is housetrained, crate trained, and good with other dogs. Please call us at 549-HSWM if you think you might be Roo's special person. Update: Roo is not available while she goes through some more training.
3/25/2010 [10-D109] Janie
Pit Bull X, brindle, Female spayed, 5 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Poor Janie was brought to us when her owners just couldn't afford to take care of her anymore. Hopefully there is someone out there looking for a nice pitbull who can teach her how to be a polite member of the household and provide lots of fun and exercise! If you might be that home please stop by and meet Janie! Canine-Ality-(orange) I'm a wallflower!
3/25/2010 [10-D108] Millie
Pit Bull X, black/white, Female spayed, 1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Even though we are big pittie fans here at the shelter, we know this breed can get a bad reputation. But who could be afraid of a dog with so few teeth that her tongue often hangs out the side of her mouth? Meet Millie, an adorable young pitbull mix! She needs some basic training and lots of exercise but could make a great companion for someone! Stop by to meet her or give us a call if you would like to know more about her. Canine-Ality-(orange) I'm a busy bee! Update: Millie is getting a much deserved break with a foster family. Please call us at 549-HSWM to arrange a meeting with Millie.
3/20/2010 [10-D114] George
Lab X, yellow, Male neutered, 1 1/2 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Got a ball??? If so George is at your command! He'll seriously do anything for his ball! Not only that but if he's got it in his mouth then he behaves perfectly too! So of course George loves a game of fetch, but he also LOVES the river! He needs an adults only home with someone willing to help the best in him shine through! Come down to the Humane Society and ask for an adoption specialist. George is definitely worth the visit. Canine-Ality- (orange) I'm a goof ball! Update: George is being fostered for a little summer vacation of his own. Please call us at 549-HSWM to arrange to meet with George.
