Lhasa Apso,  white/black,  Female spayed,  5 yrs.
STRAY: 1700 blk S 3rd St W, Missoula
This girl is a real bad news/good news story. The bad news is that she was so horribly matted (she couldn't even open her eyes!) that she had to get a haircut immediately upon reaching the shelter. The good news is that even though she still doesn't look wonderful, she feels so much better than she just dances around being happy.

Pit Bull,  taupe/white,  Male neutered,  Young Adult   Collar: green nylon
STRAY: 1700 blk S 7th St W, Missoula
This is a handsome, very well-behaved dog who acts much more mature than his age of about one year. Someone has taught him his manners for sure; now we just wish that someone would come reclaim him! He has now been neutered, thanks to Ancare Vet Clinic.
[Picture] 8/17/2008   [A012491]   Ringo
Heeler,  blue merle/black/tan,  Male neutered,  Adult
STRAY: Bottom of Evaro Hill, north of Missoula
There are several rural housing subdivisions near where this dog was found, but if he's missing from one of them, no one has thought to call us looking for him. He's such a nice fellow that we know he's accustomed to being someone's pet, but it looks as if we may need to find him a new someone! Ringo has now been neutered, thanks to Pruyn Vet Clinic.
[Picture] 8/17/2008   [A012454]   Greta
Shepherd X,  sable,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
STRAY: 2300 blk Kemp, Missoula
This sweet dog was lost and alone when she found an open gate into what looked like a pleasant and safe yard. She was shy with the people living in the house, but even with the gate open she stayed there for several days while they made friends with her so they could bring her to us. She has relaxed and is now much more outgoing, but we wish she could tell us what was going on in her life before she sought safety in that yard!
[Picture] 8/13/2008   [A007525]   Duke
Weimaraner,  taupe,  Male neutered,  7 Yr   Collar: red nylon
STRAY: 2000 blk 38th St, Missoula
Duke was adopted from us several months ago, and unfortunately, it seems he has become quite the escape artist. He was always so mellow at the shelter that we had no idea he would get up and go at the least opportunity! He'll certainly need better confinement than he's had a for a while.
[Picture] 8/10/2008   [A012444]
Lab X,  black with white chest,  Male neutered,  7 Mo
STRAY: 600 blk N 3rd St, Missoula
This older pup was out wandering alone and didn't look as if he had been on his own for long, so his finder assumed he lived in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, no one from that area seems to be looking for him, so he's patiently waiting at the shelter for something really good to happen to him!
[Picture] 7/30/2008   [A011796]   Banjo
Lab,  black,  Male neutered,  Adult
OWNER TURN IN: Banjo and his adopters' other dog got along fine here at the shelter, but it was a different story once everyone got home. Sometimes a good home and a good dog simply aren't the right match, so we're going to try again to find just the right place for this nice fellow.
[Picture] 7/26/2008   [A012261]   Bronson
Bluetick Hound,  ticked, black & tan,  Male neutered,  3 Yr
STRAY: Hwy 12 near Lolo Hot Springs
We're not sure what goes on in this corner of Montana, but this isn't the first Hound we've gotten from this area of Hwy 12. We've never had one reclaimed, but we certainly hope someone is looking for this guy. He's much too nice a dog to be lost!
[Picture] 7/26/2008   [A012201]   Remy
Lab,  black,  Male neutered,  Adult
STRAY: Whitaker Dr, Missoula
We think Remy and his friend Nikki probably live in the neighborhood where they were found, but no owner has come forward to claim them. They are really nice dogs; we don't understand why they are still with us.
[Picture] 7/18/2008   [A012100]   Christopher
Lab/Hound X,  black with white,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: Crystal Ck Rd, Turah
This is a goofy fellow who acts terribly shy about half the time. The rest of the time he wants to be your best friend! Once he feel comfortable with someone, he just wants to cuddle. With a high enough comfort level, he'd be the greatest companion ever.
[Picture] 7/10/2008   [A011906]   Patch
Collie/Greyhound X,  tri-colored,  Male neutered,  Young Adult
STRAY: Wapiti Rd, Huson
Well, here's a dog that doesn't look like all the others! This fellow has a sleek build and a shiny coat, as well as interesting markings and a sweet face. With all that going for him, we can't understand why he's with us at all! He has now been neutered, thanks to Missoula Vet Clinic.
