Heart of the Valley
Volunteer Program
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Heart of the Valley. Volunteers are an integral part of the organization, and many of our programs depend exclusively on the support and participation of citizens from the community.
As a volunteer, you are part of a compassionate non-profit organization committed to the welfare of companion animals. The willingness of volunteers to put their love of animals into action will mean continued success for the organization and make this a better world for animals.
Volunteer Requirements
We are looking for mature, reliable individuals who are willing to make a long-term commitment to Heart of the Valley. Most positions require volunteers to be at least 18 years old. We need volunteers who can schedule regular hours, work well on their own, are self-motivated and yet able to follow directions.
Becoming a Volunteer
Several steps are involved in becoming a volunteer for Heart of the Valley. First, you must complete a volunteer application and indicate your availability and area(s) of interest. Applications are available online and at the animal shelter. Once the application has been reviewed, you will be notified about any upcoming orientations that are required. After you attend the necessary training, we will invite you to try out the volunteer experience and encourage you to commit to a schedule so that we can count on your help on a consistent basis.
